Let's Live Well in the Valley of Death

Sometimes solitude in the desert is the best path to spiritual growth AND glowing skin!

I don't know what those Spanish Colonialists were talking about when they named this place, you couldn't get a better free hot yoga session than this vacation place!

I spent five days parked on the side of the road in 1.5 mile intervals in the hot month of May in Death Valley, playing the violin, meeting cute ranger men, and learning to hacky sac. Christmas in the Valley is also magical flying kites, hallucinating in a geologist's cabin, and visiting a friendly local named Charlie on his on the ranch right outside Death Valley.

Needless to say, this place has many hidden treasures that I want to share with you all, here are some must visit places:

1. Eat Gourmet Burgers at at Primo's

Starving after your long drive to the expansive desert? Look no further than to the healthiest place around the area, Primo's. With breakfast burritos at 3.99 and Latte's starting at 2.99, the price and quality can't be beat. Vegan options also available.

2. Take a Tour through the charming Charlie's Ranch

Just outside of Death Valley the national park, is BLM (Bureau of Land Management) truly, like the wild wild west. Though Charlie had been out during the time of visit, the ranch is run by very nice women who were exquisite hosts telling us so much about their history living on the land. There are some wandering spirits out and about with some unfinished business, so be sure to bring those chakra cleansing crystals with good juju!

3. Looking for History and Culture? Check out the mines and soak in a warm spring

Many people had come to this Valley for work and resources in the past. Nice and hard-working Chinese laborers not only were good at building railroads, they also mined Borax with blood sweat and tears, the American Way while white people got rich! During WWII Talc became popular as well and the mining towns became booming with business while carpet baggers got to soak in natural lukewarm springs. Re-live your own mining experience and soak in the luxuious springs inside Warm Canyon for some lukewarm soaking located near Panamint.

4. Stay at the Architectural Digest-Worthy Stella Cabin

Need a place to stay at for free and roughing it in your tent is getting old? Come stay at Stella's Cabin. Once a gold miner, Stella is quoted, " I know everything about these hills and mountains where the gold is not located in this valley." Now used by the occasional adventurous wanderer like yours truly and geologists, you will hardly notice the mice scurrying about even while paranoia sets in with eating Psylocybin.

5. Most importantly, throw yourself a violin concert on the side of the road

Watch me thrown down on these awesome scales with no other sound or audience except the doppler effect of cars zooming by on their hurried vacation destination in the valley of LIFE.

On your way out stop by for a Souvenir!
